Press Release on Trust Takeover

Wycombe Wanderers Football Club and Wycombe Wanderers Trust are pleased to issue the following joint statement:

Wycombe Wanderers can today announce that the Club and its owner Steve Hayes are in the final stages of negotiations to complete a deal which would see the Club taken over by Wycombe Wanderers Trust.

Whilst there remain a number of issues to be resolved and agreed, including agreement from WWFC shareholders regarding possible changes to their shareholder rights, to enable the deal to take place, both parties are confident a deal can be finalised in the coming weeks.

The deal is designed to preserve the Frank Adams legacy of Adams Park for Wycombe Wanderers, ahead of the Club’s 125th year anniversary next season.

Wycombe Wanderers Trust Chairman, Trevor Stroud said: “We believe we are in a strong position to take the Club and Adams Park forward under the Trust’s stewardship and we are pleased with the favourable terms being offered by Steve Hayes in this process. Whilst we work towards making this deal happen and we focus on key financial and legal matters, there will be no further comment from the Trust until such time as a deal has been finalised.”

Wycombe Wanderers owner Steve Hayes said: “I am confident that Wycombe Wanderers Trust are the right people to take the Club forward. For now the focus of everyone involved is to ensure the deal is completed as quickly as possible. In keeping with the Trust, the Club and I will make no further comment until such time as a deal has been finalised”
