125 year Anniversary Plans are Coming On.

The Trust has been actively involved in making plans for this special anniversary next season, including consulting with fans for their ideas.

We would point out that for many of the proposals, there is still a lot of detail to be finalised and this detail will be communicated by the Club and the Trust over the coming weeks and months. All the suggestions made to the Trust were covered and have been summarised under the following eight headings:

  • Season Ticket Pricing: creative offers, possibly reflecting 1887 (the year of formation) and 125 are being developed by the Club
  • Match Day Pricing: the pricing ideas being developed by the Club will focus on encouraging family and group attendance
  • Publications: The Trust, working with the Ex-Players Association,  will be seeking contributions from fans and ex-players for a Fans’ Book of reminiscences, stories and highlights. A request for contributions will appear on our website shortly and the book will be available for the start of the season. In addition, the match day programme will be renamed for one season only and the idea of a 125 lucky number prize is being considered
  • Exhibition: The Trust has already received several offers of memorabilia and an indication that Wycombe Museum would be prepared to host an exhibition. The Trust will be contacting those who have already offered such items and will be contacting the Museum to agree arrangements. Our website will be asking for anyone who is prepared to loan items of interest to make themselves known
  • Matches: There is still a lot of detail to be finalised, but the intention is to arrange ‘special’ matches at appropriate times pre-season and to offer special pricing for selected games throughout the season. We have to wait for fixtures to be announced before this can be finalised
  • Events / Dinners:  The intention is to invite ex-managers and ex-players to talk at a pre-season dinner
  • Merchandise:  The one-season celebratory first and second kits have been decided, but cannot yet be announced by the Club. The intention will be to launch them to Platinum Members in the same way that this season’s kit was presented. A limited range of 125 merchandise will also be available
  • Miscellaneous:  Further discussion will be arranged  to consider some of the ideas presented, in addition to the innovative and fan-involving ideas that the Club is developing. The Trust has indicated its’ willingness to sponsor a celebratory bench, chair or tree to mark the anniversary.

It is clear from the two meetings that have been held to date, that the Club is very appreciative of the interest that has been shown by you fans in presenting your ideas. The Club is also very keen to ensure that all fans are able to enjoy and benefit from the initiatives that are being developed for the anniversary season.
