Congratulation to the Wycombe Trust for rushing into destroy the Youth Department & the life/career of many boys who proudly represented WWfc at all age groups for years.
If this is the plan the Trust has for the future of Wycombe fc there is no future!!!
This decision came despite the fact that EPPP, proposed by the Premier League, agreed by the Football League will increase payments to all clubs for youth development….
If you don’t have the money to buy the club why you doing
I agree, Joe, that this is a crazy initiative when all other Football League clubs are at least aiming for Category 4 Academies. The message it sends is that the new regime is not interested in Youth and this is not only a denial of the DNA of any town, family Club but one that will take new owners and several years to reverse. It is impossible to imagine that the 67th best supported Club in the country cannot fund a Child/Youth Development programme for the good of the town, the sport and even themselves and still break even. This is a Trust that cannot be trusted.
Alex, As ever with football, the problem often turns with who is in control, who can make decisions, who is advising the Trust, they don’t realise that with the money given by the Football League around £ 150.000 and £80.000+legal fees they be will paying for unfair dismissal/redundancy to the 30 staff,
the amount would actually be what is needed for Wycombe to be Academy level 3, for this to work you’d need people rowing in the same direction with a central strategy.
Let’s hope they change their mind for the sake of the future of our WWfc.
