Trust Chairman speaks on 5Live

The Chairman of the Wycombe Wanderers Trust, Trevor Stroud was interviewed this morning by BBC Radio 5Live

The series of “Glory Hunting” was started with host Justin Moorhouse following York City and then moving his allegiance to whoever beat them. So he became a Wycombe fan for 3 days and now follows the Gills! Justin claimed to have had a passion for the Wanderers since taking his boys to see us play in the London 5-a-side tournaments under the management of Martin O’Neill.

Trevor was able to tell the listeners how we had first refusal to buy the club and that the Trust also owned the Ground and the Training Ground. He talked about the the positive response from fans and how some who had become disillusioned during the single ownership were now returning. Trust Members would now be able to have their say going forward though first there was much to be done in updating the structure given that the Trust had gone from being the fans link to the club to now being the owners. We are now seeking to stabilise the club on a break even basis before going on to hopefully make money for re-investment in the team.

Justin knew we were in our 125 year anniversary season which Trevor said would be especially commemorated by the fixture with AFC Wimbledon on Saturday 22nd September.

Trevor will no doubt be in the Vere Suite or at our new members recruiting table (by the gazebo), before the game today with Bristol Rovers during which we hope to hear the infamous “Rhubarb Rhubarb Boing Boing” chant from the Chairboys ‘Barmy Army’.
