Youngster Shows Mature Responsibility
19 year old defender Anthony Stewart has spoken publicly about the conditions under which Wanderers tried to play last Saturday during the subsequently abandoned match against Bristol Rovers.
Whilst most supporters were distracted by the violent thunderstorm and the scary lightning flashes, the players were having to cope with ever worsening pitch conditions caused by the torrential rain.
Speaking to Greg Burns of the Buckinghamshire Advertiser, Stewart says “The conditions were terrible and I couldn’t believe how bad it got,” he said. “The ball was getting caught up in puddles so it was only right that the game was called off.”
