WWFC vs AFC Wimbledon on Saturday – A Fan’s Appeal

A well known and loyal Wycombe fan Andy Worboys has issued this appeal tonight on the Chairboys Gasroom:

“To all genuine Wycombe Wanderers fans. Next Saturday is the match to celebrate 125 years of Wycombe Wanderers Football Club. It couldn’t have been against more appropriate opposition in AFC Wimbledon, a trust-owned club who have become a shining light for all fans trying to rescue or revive dying clubs.

Both clubs have started the season poorly but this match is very special & represents more than just 90 minutes of football on the pitch. It’s a celebration and “thank you” to all the people who’ve built the club up in the past & helped to make it a central part of life in High Wycombe.

Several friends are no longer with us but would have loved to be at Adams Park on Saturday. This game is for them – and for all those whose dedication, hard work & support over 125 years has enabled us to have this celebration.

So whatever your take on the manager, the players or fans PLEASE turn up on Saturday out of respect to those people for whom this club meant so much but can no longer be with us in person. I’m sure their spirits will be.”

There are many reasons why fans of all eras should return to Adams Park this Saturday and we will be bringing you some of the main details of this special occasion during the coming week. In the meantime follow this link to the Official WWFC website .

Make sure you are there on Saturday for what will be a very special day to celebrate our 125 anniversary.
