The small but dedicated group of fans making the walk through the night from Wycombe to Oxford’s Kassam Stadium set off from Adams Park at midnight.

There to see them off was the WWFC Management team of Gareth Ainsworth, Richard Dobson and Lee Harrison who had come straight to Adams Park from a trip to watch Port Vale beat next Tuesday’s opponents Burton Albion by 7-1.

Gareth presented our walkers with a special shirt signed by all the first team squad, thanked the group for all their efforts in fund raising and wished them well for the 10-hour night walk ahead of them.

It is not too late if you want to support this walk.

There will also be a chance to meet the walkers who are being hosted on their arrival on Saturday morning at the Priory Pub near the Oxford ground. Collecting buckets will be available there and at the Kassam Stadium before this always important M40 derby match.

Thanks to all of the group ( Dale Jenkins, Paul McCloud, Sue McCloud, Josh Salter, Rob Salter, Andy Tillman, Ben Hampstead, Toni Blake, Rena Perrin, John Bartlett, Will Schafer-Peek, David Roberton, David Howells and Russell Cox) but especially to key organisers Dale Jenkins and Paul McCloud. In amongst that group, who were waived and cheered off by a small group of other fans was WWFC, WW Trust and Community Trust Director David Roberton.
