Football Clubs Insolvency and the Football Creditors Rule

There was a very interesting debate in Westminster Hall on Tuesday 18th March, when a number of MPs debated the insolvency of football clubs and the football creditors rule.

The debate was tabled by Damian Collins MP who is also launching his Private Members Bill soon on Football Governance in a bid to make the sport more transparent and accountable, to ensure fair play between professional football clubs and their supporters and for connected purposes.

Other speakers in this debate represented constituencies such as Portsmouth, Coventry and Swindon where a number of issues have received strong media coverage in the past.

The reply to the debate was given by the Business, Innovation and Skills Minister.
