Trust Members Update – 23rd October

The following was sent by email to all Trust members on Friday 23rd October. If you didn’t receive this please email [email protected] – see the note below headed ‘Emails from the Trust’

“A few items to update you on:

Trust Director Responsibilities

Nigel Kingston has taken over responsibility for marketing the share issue from James Sumner. Nigel is now Chairman of the Share Issue Marketing Group.

John Bignell is now Membership Secretary, having taken over this role from Colin Treacher.

Colin Treacher is still Company Secretary.

Nigel and John will update you on their activities over the next few weeks and Colin will issue the AGM papers in the second week of November.

Emails from the Trust

We have had intermittent problems recently with our emails not reaching all members. This is because some service providers have made it more difficult for large numbers of identical or similar looking emails to pass through their spam filters.

We are doing everything we can at this end. For example, our emails now include membership numbers, so that each email is unique and we avoid website addresses within our text, using ‘click here’ buttons instead.

There is one small step you can take that has proved highly effective in combating this problem. Please add our sending address – [email protected] – to your email contacts (sometimes called your ‘safe list’).

This works because you are effectively telling your service provider that you want to receive our emails and you may recall other organisations asking you to do this. We have asked all new members to do this for about the last three years.

Please do not assume this problem does not affect you because you have received this email – as above, the problem is intermittent.

As a further safeguard, all our members’ emails will also be on our website and you are advised to check this once a week.

Volunteers

There are just two more Sundays planned to trim the banks surrounding the car park and some more help is being sought to ensure this work is finished before the winter:

25 October and  8 November (now cancelled due to FA Cup tie at Halifax)

If you are able to lend a hand, please contact John Derben at [email protected] or on 01494 441145. The hours are 10am to 4pm, but this can be flexible and a sandwich lunch is provided.

Race Night

The OWWSA organised Race Night is on Friday 4th December in the Vere Suite.  Click here for more details

This event had to be moved from the original date of 13th November as WWFC will be playing Leeds United at Adams Park that evening. Click here for details

Thank you for your support”
