Notes from April Trust Board Meeting

The Trust Board met recently towards the end of April for their monthly meeting.

The previous minutes were signed off and a financial update was provided by Group Finance Director Mark Burrell. This discussion mainly concerned the control of the club’s cashflow with us still unable to secure a Bank overdraft to cover the irregular nature of our income.

In terms of the football club, the announcement of Luke O’Nien’s new contract has now been made public and decisions on 8 other out of contract players will be made once the season has finished.

Gareth Ainsworth agreed to thank fans in the Vere Suite prior to the Accrington match for their support throughout the season.

The Share Scheme marketing group will meet on 10th May and will put together a couple of ideas to encourage more investors and introduce some exciting new projects.

300 members had now pledged £722K or which £378k has been banked. The ‘Director for the Day’ initiative encouraged a few new investors, and one lucky winner was drawn to enjoy the experience at the Accrington Stanley home match on Saturday 30th April.

There had been little uptake or interest in the previously presented Youth Player Fund, although the club will continue to await feedback from individuals and businesses interested in the proposed scheme.

The Fans Council will meet again on Wednesday 11th May with minutes to be distributed to fans after the meeting takes place.

WWSET is making a very positive contribution but could be a much bigger asset to the Club and ways to make this a reality will be explored. From 2017, the WWSET Board may need to have 25% female representation in order to secure public funding.

The sale of badges had now raised £3000 and will continue next season.

The Trust Board will meet again later in May.
