Teamwork by the Volunteers Makes a Difference

A working party of fans freely gave up more than 6 hours of their Sunday today to do a number of jobs around the Adams Park site.

The group pictured here during a brief break, was organised by WWFC Director John Derben (right) , whose wife Sandie arranged the sandwich lunch and other refreshments for the volunteer workers! John is also chairman of the Official Wycombe Wanderers Supporters Association (“OWWSA”).

More members of OWWSA and of the WW Trust, including its’ Board members, David Roberton, David Cook and Alan Cecil  joined other supporters in cutting down and tidying up many of the shrubbery and grass bank areas around the stadium and sweeping up much of the loose grit and shingle.

The entrance gates had been looking rather shabby with much of the blue paint having flaked off. They are now resplendent in new light and dark blue colours as will be seen on Tuesday night as you arrive for the home game against Plymouth (ko 7.45pm).

There is still more work to be done including the repainting of the black gates brought from Loakes Park and it is hoped that another volunteer group will be able to meet on Sunday 14th October – confirmation to follow.

Whilst this sort of work may not put more ‘points on the board’, it is one of a number of ways in which fans can now get involved in their club and an excellent way to Make a Difference!
