David Roberton - Chairman of the Trust

David RobertonI was born in Wycombe, went to school in Wycombe and have been a "Blues" supporter for as long as I can remember. I even played a few games at Loakes Park. An early memory of being a "Blues" fan was the FA Amateur Cup Semi Final in 1957 when the "Blues" beat Corinthian Casuals 3-1 at Highbury (unfortunately my dad would not take me to Wembley for the final because I would not have been able to see over peoples heads in the old standing section).

My reason for joining the Trust was to help try and ensure that my team survive and continue to play at a high level of football and do not go the way of Ilford, Leytonstone, Wealdstone and others whose assets were somehow lost and their football heritage and place in the community consigned to the history books.

I am very proud of my Club and want to ensure that my grandchildren can wear the blue quarters with pride whilst supporting their professional team in the safe, enjoyable and friendly environment that we had at both Loakes Park and now Adams Park.

David McGee -

Dave McGeeMy Father first took me to Loakes Park in 1981 to watch the Wycombe School Boys (U15's) Team in their great cup run (Bressington, Dublin, Keen and West) from this point I was hooked. I landed my first job selling programmes in the 86/87 season and have been following the Wanderers ever since.

The FA Cup run was fantastic and produced great games at Wimbledon, Leicester and of course the semi final, but if pressed to state my favourite game I still can’t get my mind from Bognor away to win the Vauxhall Opel League – the first of many trophies.

Wycombe Wanderers Trust is the last area of control the supporters of the Club have. For it to be effective it must be organised and operated in a professional fashion. Our intention is to promote the Trust to achieve a high and active membership which will represent and reflect a wide cross section of supporters.

The Trust has to be dynamic: to attract a thriving membership it must be democratic, accountable and provide accurate and timely communications between the club and its supporters.

Please feel free to leave me a message at dm@wwst.org or post on the Gasroom.
